Privacy Policy

Effective June 16, 2026

The short version

This policy explains what Shizumori (“the app”, “we”) does with your information. We built Shizumori to be private by default: a local-first app with no user accounts and no backend database of your personal data.

What stays on your device

Everything you set up and use in the app is stored locally on your phone and is not uploaded to us:

If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. There is no cloud copy because there is no cloud account.

Anonymous analytics

To understand which features help and where people get stuck, we collect anonymous, aggregate usage analytics (for example: which screens are opened, which sounds are popular, whether onboarding was completed). This is processed by PostHog on our behalf.

These analytics are not tied to your identity. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or any medical or health diagnosis. We do not build an advertising profile of you, and we do not use this data to identify you personally.

Purchases

If you subscribe or buy the full version, the payment itself is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) — we never see or store your card details. We use RevenueCat to keep track of whether a purchase or trial is active, using an anonymous app identifier. That tells the app to unlock premium features; it does not reveal who you are.

Health & medical note

Shizumori is a wellness and relaxation tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure tinnitus or any other condition, and nothing in the app is medical advice. The tinnitus pitch and any related inputs you provide are used only on your device to shape the sounds you hear — they are never transmitted to us. If your tinnitus is new, worsening, or distressing, please talk to a qualified healthcare professional.

Children

Shizumori is intended for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Who processes data for us

We rely on a small number of well-known service providers, each only for the purpose described above:

Your choices

You can stop all analytics collection at any time by removing the app from your device. Because we hold no account and no server-side profile, there is no separate “delete my account” step — uninstalling removes your local data completely.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
